North Avenue Missionary Society

North Avenue Missions Statement

I. Name: The name of this organization shall be the North Avenue Missionary Society and its members shall meet and report to the congregation monthly.

II. Purpose:

The North Avenue Missionary Society is formed as an extension of the North Avenue Missionary Baptist Church for the sole purpose of addressing the biblical edict of assisting those in need.

"So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth; they have received their reward in full." Matthew 6:2 NIV

To fulfill this purpose a select group of members are empowered and entrusted with resources to address these needs. They are directed to meet the needs of our members and to communicate God’s love for all people through tangible means of expressions. Our ultimate purpose is to foster a need of Jesus Christ as savior in those we minister to.

We are not merely an agency to aid persons experiencing financial distress, but an outreach arm of the Church of Christ. Therefore, we look to Matthew 14:19-21, 15:30-38, Acts 4:32-37, and James 2:14-26 for guidance. This organization shall be fully funded as a line item budget expense of the general budget.
